In South Africa there are many townships with notable similarities. Soshanguve is so distinct in a number of aspects, the township is located north of Pretoria.  The name Soshanguve is an acronym for Sotho, Shangaan, Nguni and Venda. The township is composed of multi-ethnic groups with different cultures.

On the 1st of January 2024, four people, including an off-duty police officer and a teenage girl, were shot dead shortly after midnight in Soshanguve Jukulyn. The rate of crime in the township has a significant impact on life of many people in the community.

  On the 20th of January 2024 the Local Pastors in collaboration with Every Home for Christ SA, local business and public stackholders came together and declared Jesus in this township through prayer. The group conducted a prayer walk that was covering over six (6) sections of Jukulyn praying for peace in the community.  Sometime after  prayer walk, they went on to meet at a community park and continued praying again for the Soshanguve community to be saturated in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
